2:1 和合本 尼尼微啊,那打碎邦國的上來攻擊你。你要看守保障,謹防道路,使腰強壯,大大勉力。
KJV He that dasheth in pieces is come up before thy face: keep the munition, watch the way, make thy loins strong, fortify thy power mightily.
ASV He that dasheth in pieces is come up against thee: keep the fortress, watch the way, make thy loins strong, fortify thy power mightily.
YLT Come up hath a scatterer to thy face, Keep the bulwark, watch the way, Strengthen the loins, strengthen power mightily.
BBE A crusher has come up before your face: keep a good look-out, let the way be watched, make yourself strong, let your power be greatly increased.
WEB He who dashes in pieces has come up against you. Keep the fortress! Watch the way! Strengthen your waist! Fortify your power mightily!
2:2 和合本 (耶和華復興雅各的榮華,好像以色列的榮華一樣;因為使地空虛的,已經使雅各和以色列空虛,將他們的葡萄枝毀壞了。)
KJV For the LORD hath turned away the excellency of Jacob, as the excellency of Israel: for the emptiers have emptied them out, and marred their vine branches.
ASV For Jehovah restoreth the excellency of Jacob, as the excellency of Israel; for the emptiers have emptied them out, and destroyed their vine-branches.
YLT For turned back hath Jehovah to the excellency of Jacob, As `to' the excellency of Israel, For emptied them out have emptiers, And their branches they have marred.

2:3 和合本 他勇士的盾牌是紅的,精兵都穿朱紅衣服。在他預備爭戰的日子,戰車上的鋼鐵閃爍如火,柏木把的槍也掄起來了。
KJV The shield of his mighty men is made red, the valiant men are in scarlet: the chariots shall be with flaming torches in the day of his preparation, and the fir trees shall be terribly shaken.
ASV The shield of his mighty men is made red, the valiant men are in scarlet: the chariots flash with steel in the day of his preparation, and the cypress `spears' are brandished.
YLT The shield of his mighty ones is become red, Men of might `are in' scarlet, With fiery torches `is' the chariot in a day of his preparation, And the firs have been caused to tremble.
BBE The body-covers of his fighting men have been made red, the men of war are clothed in bright red: the war-carriages are like flames of fire in the day when he gets ready, the horses are shaking.

2:4 和合本 車輛在街上(或作:城外)急行,在寬闊處奔來奔去,形狀如火把,飛跑如閃電。

2:5 和合本 尼尼微王招聚他的貴冑;他們步行絆跌,速上城牆,預備擋牌。
KJV He shall recount his worthies: they shall stumble in their walk; they shall make haste to the wall thereof, and the defence shall be prepared.
ASV He remembereth his nobles: they stumble in their march; they make haste to the wall thereof, and the mantelet is prepared.

2:7 和合本 王后蒙羞,被人擄去;宮女搥胸,哀鳴如鴿。此乃命定之事。
KJV And Huzzab shall be led away captive, she shall be brought up, and her maids shall lead her as with the voice of doves, tabering upon their breasts.
ASV And it is decreed: she is uncovered, she is carried away; and her handmaids moan as with the voice of doves, beating upon their breasts.

2:8 和合本 尼尼微自古以來充滿人民,如同聚水的池子;現在居民卻都逃跑。雖有人呼喊說:站住!站住!卻無人回顧。
KJV But Nineveh is of old like a pool of water: yet they shall flee away. Stand, stand, shall they cry; but none shall look back.

YLT And Nineveh `is' as a pool of waters, From of old it `is' -- and they are fleeing! `Stand ye, stand;' and none is turning!

2:9 和合本 你們搶掠金銀吧!因為所積蓄的無窮,華美的寶器無數。
KJV Take ye the spoil of silver, take the spoil of gold: for there is none end of the store and glory out of all the pleasant furniture.

2:10 和合本 尼尼微現在空虛荒涼,人心消化,雙膝相碰,腰都疼痛,臉都變色。
KJV She is empty, and void, and waste: and the heart melteth, and the knees smite together, and much pain is in all loins, and the faces of them all gather blackness.
ASV She is empty, and void, and waste; and the heart melteth, and the knees smite together, and anguish is in all loins, and the faces of them all are waxed pale.
YLT She is empty, yea, emptiness and waste, And the heart hath melted, And the knees have smitten together, And great pain `is' in all loins, And the faces of all of them have gathered paleness.
BBE Everything has been taken from her, all is gone, she has nothing more: the heart is turned to water, the knees are shaking, all are twisted in pain, and colour has gone from all faces.
WEB She is empty, void, and waste. The heart melts, the knees knock together, their bodies and faces have grown pale.
2:11 和合本 獅子的洞和少壯獅子餵養之處在那裡呢?公獅母獅小獅遊行、無人驚嚇之地在那裡呢?
KJV Where is the dwelling of the lions, and the feedingplace of the young lions, where the lion, even the old lion, walked, and the lion's whelp, and none made them afraid?

2:12 和合本 公獅為小獅撕碎許多食物,為母獅掐死活物,把撕碎的、掐死的充滿他的洞穴。
KJV The lion did tear in pieces enough for his whelps, and strangled for his lionesses, and filled his holes with prey, and his dens with ravin.

KJV Behold, I am against thee, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will burn her chariots in the smoke, and the sword shall devour thy young lions: and I will cut off thy prey from the earth, and the voice of thy messengers shall no more be heard.

BBE See, I am against you, says the Lord of armies, and I will have your war-carriages burned in the smoke, and your young lions will be food for the sword: you will no longer get your food by force on the earth, and the voice of your she-lions will be stopped for ever.
WEB "Behold, I am against you," says Yahweh of Armies, "and I will burn her chariots in the smoke, and the sword will devour your young lions; and I will cut off your prey from the earth, and the voice of your messengers will no longer be heard."
