1-11節--信心帶來平安

羅馬書 第5章

保羅如今開始講述救恩的結果。我們在第四章看見人得蒙赦罪之後的喜樂，來到第五章，保羅便繼續指出，人找到基督之後，平安便進入他的內心。

內心得著平安，乃是人接受耶穌基督之後的其中一個自然結果。不少人在信主之前，因著犯罪而良心不斷被罪所折磨，使他們的生活充滿困擾。然而，當他們接受了耶穌基督的救恩，知道自己得著神的赦免，他們的內心便充滿神的平安，他們便無須再在罪中掙扎。

除此之外，我們相信耶穌基督之後的另一個結果，就是能以一種嶄新的心態來面對試探和試煉。如今，我們相信一切臨到我們身上的試煉，都有它的價值和目標──為的是鍛練我們，幫助我們成長和建立基督徒的品格。

這些改變便不斷增強我們在基督裡的盼望。我們永不會失望，因為聖靈已將基督的愛澆灌在我們心裡。

這一切都是在基督裡接受救恩的結果。保羅不禁在6至8節驚嘆它的奇妙。當我們還是罪人的時候，神已經愛我們。保羅在第10節更說我們是神的仇敵，但神卻仍然愛我們，神的愛便在此顯明了。

藉著神兒子的死，我們得以與神復和。但這並非事情的完結，因基督已從死裡復活，如今在天上不斷在神的寶座前為我們代求，使我們在經歷一切的試探和試煉的時候，得著神的保守。

願我們為著神所成就的一切，向神發出頌讚；並祈求祂讓我們每天經歷祂所賜的平安和明白祂在我們生命中的作為。

FAITH BRINGS PEACE

Paul now begins to deal with the results of salvation. In chapter 4 we saw the happiness that comes to a man who has been forgiven. Paul then mentions the peace that comes into a heart that has found Christ.

This is one of the results of being accepted by God in Jesus Christ. For example, there are many people who have struggled with a guilty conscience. Their lives have been full of conflict because of it. Now they discover that Gods peace has flooded their soul and they are at rest.

Then Paul states that there are further results of having put our faith in Jesus Christ. Since coming to Christ and finding new life, we have a different attitude toward testings and trials. Now we can accept them as being for a definite purpose. Testings will help us grow and that means the further development of our Christian character.

All of this strengthens our hope in Christ. We will never be disappointed in Christ because of the certainty of his love. This is made real to us by the indwelling Spirit of God.

All these things are the result of our salvation in Christ. Paul moves back to the wonder of it in verses 6-8. Here is the proof of the love of God. It wasnt because we were good that God loved us. He loved us when we were sinners in his sight. Paul calls us Gods enemies in verse 10. Yet God loved us even so.

Isnt that wonderful? It was the death of Gods Son that reconciled us to God. But Christ is alive again and his work today is to help maintain us in our Christian walk. It is his intercessory prayer at the throne of God that keeps us in the time of temptation and testing.

Why not stop and praise God for all he has done? Ask him to make his peace real to you day by day and to help you understand how he is working in your life continuously.

A VERSE FOR TODAY: Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on thee.
