KJV In the three and twentieth year of Joash the son of Ahaziah king of Judah Jehoahaz the son of Jehu began to reign over Israel in Samaria, and reigned seventeen years.

13:2 和合本 約哈斯行耶和華眼中看為惡的事,效法尼八的兒子耶羅波安使以色列人陷在罪裡的那罪,總不離開。
KJV And he did that which was evil in the sight of the LORD, and followed the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, which made Israel to sin; he departed not therefrom.
ASV And he did that which was evil in the sight of Jehovah, and followed the sins of Jeroboam the son of Nebat, wherewith he made Israel to sin; he departed not therefrom.
YLT and he doth the evil thing in the eyes of Jehovah, and goeth after the sins of Jeroboam son of Nebat, that he caused Israel to sin -- he turned not aside from it,
BBE He did evil in the eyes of the Lord, copying the sins of Jeroboam, the son of Nebat, which he did and made Israel do; he did not keep himself from them.

13:3 和合本 於是,耶和華的怒氣向以色列人發作,將他們屢次交在亞蘭王哈薛和他兒子便哈達的手裡。
KJV And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel, and he delivered them into the hand of Hazael king of Syria, and into the hand of Benhadad the son of Hazael, all their days.
ASV And the anger of Jehovah was kindled against Israel, and he delivered them into the hand of Hazael king of Syria, and into the hand of Benhadad the son of Hazael, continually.
YLT and the anger of Jehovah burneth against Israel, and He giveth them into the hand of Hazael king of Aram, and into the hand of Ben-Hadad son of Hazael, all the days.
BBE So the wrath of the Lord was burning against Israel, and he gave them up into the power of Hazael, king of Aram, and into the power of Ben-hadad, the son of Hazael, again and again.

13:4 和合本 約哈斯懇求耶和華,耶和華就應允他,因為見以色列人所受亞蘭王的欺壓。
KJV And Jehoahaz besought the LORD, and the LORD hearkened unto him: for he saw the oppression of Israel, because the king of Syria oppressed them.

BBE Then Jehoahaz made prayer to the Lord, and the Lord gave ear to him, for he saw how cruelly Israel was crushed by the king of Aram.

13:5 和合本 耶和華賜給以色列人一位拯救者,使他們脫離亞蘭人的手;於是以色列人仍舊安居在家裡。
KJV (And the LORD gave Israel a saviour, so that they went out from under the hand of the Syrians: and the children of Israel dwelt in their tents, as beforetime.

13:6 和合本 然而他們不離開耶羅波安家使以色列人陷在罪裡的那罪,仍然去行,並且在撒瑪利亞留下亞舍拉。
KJV Nevertheless they departed not from the sins of the house of Jeroboam, who made Israel sin, but walked therein: and there remained the grove also in Samaria.)

13:7 和合本 亞蘭王滅絕約哈斯的民,踐踏他們如禾場上的塵沙,只給約哈斯留下五十馬兵,十輛戰車,一萬步兵。
KJV Neither did he leave of the people to Jehoahaz but fifty horsemen, and ten chariots, and ten thousand footmen; for the king of Syria had destroyed them, and had made them like the dust by threshing.
ASV For he left not to Jehoahaz of the people save fifty horsemen, and ten chariots, and ten thousand footmen; for the king of Syria destroyed them, and made them like the dust in threshing.
YLT for he left not to Jehoahaz of the people except fifty horsemen, and ten chariots, and ten thousand footmen, for the king of Aram hath destroyed them, and maketh them as dust for threshing.

KJV Now Elisha was fallen sick of his sickness whereof he died. And Joash the king of Israel came down unto him, and wept over his face, and said, O my father, my father, the chariot of Israel, and the horsemen thereof.
ASV Now Elisha was fallen sick of his sickness whereof he died: and Joash the king of Israel came down unto him, and wept over him, and said, My father, my father, the chariots of Israel and the horsemen thereof!

13:15 和合本 以利沙對他說:「你取弓箭來。」王就取了弓箭來;

13:17 和合本 說:「你開朝東的窗戶。」他就開了。以利沙說:「射箭吧!」他就射箭。以利沙說:「這是耶和華的得勝箭,就是戰勝亞蘭人的箭;因為你必在亞弗攻打亞蘭人,直到滅盡他們。」
KJV And he said, Open the window eastward. And he opened it. Then Elisha said, Shoot. And he shot. And he said, The arrow of the LORD's deliverance, and the arrow of deliverance from Syria: for thou shalt smite the Syrians in Aphek, till thou have consumed th
ASV And he said, Open the window eastward; and he opened it. Then Elisha said, Shoot; and he shot. And he said, Jehovah's arrow of victory, even the arrow of victory over Syria; for thou shalt smite the Syrians in Aphek, till thou have consumed them.
YLT and saith, `Open the window eastward;' and he openeth, and Elisha saith, `Shoot,' and he shooteth; and he saith, `An arrow of salvation to Jehovah, and an arrow of salvation against Aram, and thou hast smitten Aram, in Aphek, till consuming.'
BBE Then he said; Let the window be open to the east: and he got it open. Then Elisha said, Let the arrow go; and he let it go. And he said, The Lord's arrow of salvation, of salvation over Aram; for you will overcome the Aramaeans in Aphek and put an end to them.

13:19 和合本 神人向他發怒,說:「應當擊打五六次,就能攻打亞蘭人直到滅盡;現在只能打敗亞蘭人三次。」
KJV And the man of God was wroth with him, and said, Thou shouldest have smitten five or six times; then hadst thou smitten Syria till thou hadst consumed it: whereas now thou shalt smite Syria but thrice.

BBE And death came to Elisha and they put his body into the earth. Now in the spring of the year, armed bands of Moabites frequently came, overrunning the land.

13:21 和合本 有人正葬死人,忽然看見一群人,就把死人拋在以利沙的墳墓裡,一碰著以利沙的骸骨,死人就復活,站起來了。
KJV And it came to pass, as they were burying a man, that, behold, they spied a band of men; and they cast the man into the sepulchre of Elisha: and when the man was let down, and touched the bones of Elisha, he revived, and stood up on his feet.

13:22 和合本 約哈斯年間,亞蘭王哈薛屢次欺壓以色列人。
KJV But Hazael king of Syria oppressed Israel all the days of Jehoahaz.

13:23 和合本 耶和華卻因與亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各所立的約,仍施恩給以色列人,憐恤他們,眷顧他們,不肯滅盡他們,尚未趕逐他們離開自己面前。
KJV And the LORD was gracious unto them, and had compassion on them, and had respect unto them, because of his covenant with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, and would not destroy them, neither cast he them from his presence as yet.

13:25 和合本 從前哈薛和約阿施的父親約哈斯爭戰,攻取了些城邑,現在約哈斯的兒子約阿施三次打敗哈薛的兒子便哈達,就收回了以色列的城邑。
KJV And Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz took again out of the hand of Benhadad the son of Hazael the cities, which he had taken out of the hand of Jehoahaz his father by war. Three times did Joash beat him, and recovered the cities of Israel.
ASV And Jehoash the son of Jehoahaz took again out of the hand of Benhadad the son of Hazael the cities which he had taken out of the hand of Jehoahaz his father by war. Three times did Joash smite him, and recovered the cities of Israel.
YLT and Jehoash son of Jehoahaz turneth and taketh the cities out of the hand of Ben-Hadad son of Hazael that he had taken out of the hand of Jehoahaz his father in war; three times hath Joash smitten him, and he bringeth back the cities of Israel.
BBE And Jehoash, the son of Jehoahaz, took again from Ben-hadad, the son of Hazael, the towns which he had taken from Jehoahaz his father in war. Three times Jehoash overcame him and got back the towns of Israel.
