16:1 和合本 約伯回答說:

16:2 和合本 這樣的話我聽了許多;你們安慰人,反叫人愁煩。
KJV I have heard many such things: miserable comforters are ye all.
ASV I have heard many such things: Miserable comforters are ye all.
YLT I have heard many such things, Miserable comforters `are' ye all.
BBE Such things have frequently come to my ears: you are comforters who only give trouble.
WEB "I have heard many such things.
16:3 和合本 虛空的言語有窮盡嗎?有什麼話惹動你回答呢?
KJV Shall vain words have an end? or what emboldeneth thee that thou answerest?
ASV Shall vain words have an end? Or what provoketh thee that thou answerest?
YLT Is there an end to words of wind? Or what doth embolden thee that thou answerest?
BBE May words which are like the wind be stopped? or what is troubling you to make answer to them?
WEB Shall vain words have an end?
16:4 和合本 我也能說你們那樣的話;你們若處在我的境遇,我也會聯絡言語攻擊你們,又能向你們搖頭。
KJV I also could speak as ye do: if your soul were in my soul's stead, I could heap up words against you, and shake mine head at you.
ASV I also could speak as ye do; If your soul were in my soul's stead, I could join words together against you, And shake my head at you.
YLT I also, like you, might speak, If your soul were in my soul's stead. I might join against you with words, And nod at you with my head.
BBE It would not be hard for me to say such things if your souls were in my soul's place; joining words together against you, and shaking my head at you:
WEB I also could speak as you do.
16:5 和合本 但我必用口堅固你們,用嘴消解你們的憂愁。
KJV But I would strengthen you with my mouth, and the moving of my lips should asswage your grief.
ASV `But' I would strengthen you with my mouth, And the solace of my lips would assuage `your grief'.
YLT I might harden you with my mouth, And the moving of my lips might be sparing.
BBE I might give you strength with my mouth, and not keep back the comfort of my lips.
WEB But I would strengthen you with my mouth.
16:6 和合本 我雖說話,憂愁仍不得消解;我雖停住不說,憂愁就離開我嗎?
KJV Though I speak, my grief is not asswaged: and though I forbear, what am I eased?
ASV Though I speak, my grief is not assuaged; And though I forbear, what am I eased?
YLT If I speak, my pain is not restrained, And I cease -- what goeth from me?
BBE If I say what is in my mind, my pain becomes no less: and if I keep quiet, how much of it goes from me?
WEB "Though I speak, my grief is not subsided.
16:7 和合本 但現在神使我困倦,使親友遠離我,
KJV But now he hath made me weary: thou hast made desolate all my company.
ASV But now he hath made me weary: Thou hast made desolate all my company.
YLT Only, now, it hath wearied me; Thou hast desolated all my company,
BBE But now he has overcome me with weariness and fear, and I am in the grip of all my trouble.
WEB But now, God, you have surely worn me out.
16:8 和合本 又抓住我,作見證攻擊我;我身體的枯瘦也當面見證我的不是。
KJV And thou hast filled me with wrinkles, which is a witness against me: and my leanness rising up in me beareth witness to my face.
ASV And thou hast laid fast hold on me, `which' is a witness `against me': And my leanness riseth up against me, It testifieth to my face.
YLT And Thou dost loathe me, For a witness it hath been, And rise up against me doth my failure, In my face it testifieth.
BBE It has come up as a witness against me, and the wasting of my flesh makes answer to my face.
WEB You have shriveled me up. This is a witness against me.
16:9 和合本 主發怒撕裂我,逼迫我,向我切齒;我的敵人怒目看我。
KJV He teareth me in his wrath, who hateth me: he gnasheth upon me with his teeth; mine enemy sharpeneth his eyes upon me.
ASV He hath torn me in his wrath, and persecuted me; He hath gnashed upon me with his teeth: Mine adversary sharpeneth his eyes upon me.
YLT His anger hath torn, and he hateth me, He hath gnashed at me with his teeth, My adversary sharpeneth his eyes for me.
BBE I am broken by his wrath, and his hate has gone after me; he has made his teeth sharp against me: my haters are looking on me with cruel eyes;
WEB He has torn me in his wrath, and persecuted me;
16:10 和合本 他們向我開口,打我的臉羞辱我,聚會攻擊我。
KJV They have gaped upon me with their mouth; they have smitten me upon the cheek reproachfully; they have gathered themselves together against me.
ASV They have gaped upon me with their mouth; They have smitten me upon the cheek reproachfully: They gather themselves together against me.
YLT They have gaped on me with their mouth, In reproach they have smitten my cheeks, Together against me they set themselves.
BBE Their mouths are open wide against me; the blows of his bitter words are falling on my face; all of them come together in a mass against me.
WEB They have gaped on me with their mouth;
16:11 和合本 神把我交給不敬虔的人,把我扔到惡人的手中。
KJV God hath delivered me to the ungodly, and turned me over into the hands of the wicked.
ASV God delivereth me to the ungodly, And casteth me into the hands of the wicked.
YLT God shutteth me up unto the perverse, And to the hands of the wicked turneth me over.
BBE God gives me over to the power of sinners, sending me violently into the hands of evil-doers.
WEB God delivers me to the ungodly,
16:12 和合本 我素來安逸,他折斷我,掐住我的頸項,把我摔碎,又立我為他的箭靶子。
KJV I was at ease, but he hath broken me asunder: he hath also taken me by my neck, and shaken me to pieces, and set me up for his mark.
ASV I was at ease, and he brake me asunder; Yea, he hath taken me by the neck, and dashed me to pieces: He hath also set me up for his mark.
YLT At ease I have been, and he breaketh me, And he hath laid hold on my neck, And he breaketh me in pieces, And he raiseth me to him for a mark.
BBE I was in comfort, but I have been broken up by his hands; he has taken me by the neck, shaking me to bits; he has put me up as a mark for his arrows.
WEB I was at ease, and he broke me apart.
16:13 和合本 他的弓箭手四面圍繞我;他破裂我的肺腑,並不留情,把我的膽傾倒在地上,
KJV His archers compass me round about, he cleaveth my reins asunder, and doth not spare; he poureth out my gall upon the ground.
ASV His archers compass me round about; He cleaveth my reins asunder, and doth not spare; He poureth out my gall upon the ground.
YLT Go round against me do his archers. He splitteth my reins, and spareth not, He poureth out to the earth my gall.
BBE His bowmen come round about me; their arrows go through my body without mercy; my life is drained out on the earth.
WEB His archers surround me.
16:14 和合本 將我破裂又破裂,如同勇士向我直闖。
KJV He breaketh me with breach upon breach, he runneth upon me like a giant.

YLT He breaketh me -- breach upon breach, He runneth upon me as a mighty one.
BBE I am broken with wound after wound; he comes rushing on me like a man of war.

16:15 和合本 我縫麻布在我皮膚上,把我的角放在塵土中。
KJV I have sewed sackcloth upon my skin, and defiled my horn in the dust.

YLT Sackcloth I have sewed on my skin, And have rolled in the dust my horn.

16:16 和合本 我的臉因哭泣發紫,在我的眼皮上有死蔭。
KJV My face is foul with weeping, and on my eyelids is the shadow of death;
ASV My face is red with weeping, And on my eyelids is the shadow of death;
YLT My face is foul with weeping, And on mine eyelids `is' death-shade.
BBE My face is red with weeping, and my eyes are becoming dark;
WEB My face is red with weeping.
16:17 和合本 我的手中卻無強暴;我的祈禱也是清潔。
KJV Not for any injustice in mine hands: also my prayer is pure.
ASV Although there is no violence in my hands, And my prayer is pure.
YLT Not for violence in my hands, And my prayer `is' pure.
BBE Though my hands have done no violent acts, and my prayer is clean.

16:18 和合本 地啊,不要遮蓋我的血!不要阻擋我的哀求!
KJV O earth, cover not thou my blood, and let my cry have no place.

YLT O earth, do not thou cover my blood! And let there not be a place for my cry.

16:19 和合本 現今,在天有我的見證,在上有我的中保。
KJV Also now, behold, my witness is in heaven, and my record is on high.
ASV Even now, behold, my witness is in heaven, And he that voucheth for me is on high.
YLT Also, now, lo, in the heavens `is' my witness, And my testifier in the high places.

16:20 和合本 我的朋友譏誚我,我卻向神眼淚汪汪。
KJV My friends scorn me: but mine eye poureth out tears unto God.

BBE My friends make sport of me; to God my eyes are weeping,

16:21 和合本 願人得與神辯白,如同人與朋友辯白一樣;
KJV O that one might plead for a man with God, as a man pleadeth for his neighbour!
ASV That he would maintain the right of a man with God, And of a son of man with his neighbor!
YLT And he reasoneth for a man with God, And a son of man for his friend.
BBE So that he may give decision for a man in his cause with God, and between a son of man and his neighbour.

16:22 和合本 因為再過幾年,我必走那往而不返之路。
KJV When a few years are come, then I shall go the way whence I shall not return.
ASV For when a few years are come, I shall go the way whence I shall not return.
YLT When a few years do come, Then a path I return not do I go.
BBE For in a short time I will take the journey from which I will not come back.
