3:1 和合本 路得的婆婆拿俄米對他說:「女兒啊,我不當為你找個安身之處,使你享福嗎?
KJV Then Naomi her mother in law said unto her, My daughter, shall I not seek rest for thee, that it may be well with thee?

YLT And Naomi her mother-in-law saith to her, `My daughter, do not I seek for thee rest, that it may be well with thee?
BBE And Naomi, her mother-in-law, said to her, My daughter, am I not to get you a resting-place where you may be in comfort?
WEB Naomi her mother-in-law said to her, My daughter, shall I not seek rest for you, that it may be well with you?
3:2 和合本 你與波阿斯的使女常在一處,波阿斯不是我們的親族嗎?他今夜在場上簸大麥;
KJV And now is not Boaz of our kindred, with whose maidens thou wast? Behold, he winnoweth barley to night in the threshingfloor.
ASV And now is not Boaz our kinsman, with whose maidens thou wast? Behold, he winnoweth barley to-night in the threshing-floor.
YLT and now, is not Boaz of our acquaintance, with whose young women thou hast been? lo, he is winnowing the threshing-floor of barley to-night,
BBE And now, is there not Boaz, our relation, with whose young women you were? See, tonight he is separating the grain from the waste in his grain-floor.
WEB Now isn't Boaz our kinsman, with whose maidens you were? Behold, he winnows barley tonight in the threshing floor.
3:3 和合本 你要沐浴抹膏,換上衣服,下到場上,卻不要使那人認出你來。你等他吃喝完了,
KJV Wash thyself therefore, and anoint thee, and put thy raiment upon thee, and get thee down to the floor: but make not thyself known unto the man, until he shall have done eating and drinking.
ASV Wash thyself therefore, and anoint thee, and put thy raiment upon thee, and get thee down to the threshing-floor, but make not thyself known unto the man, until he shall have done eating and drinking.
YLT and thou hast bathed, and anointed thyself, and put thy garments upon thee, and gone down to the threshing-floor; let not thyself be known to the man till he complete to eat and to drink;
BBE So take a bath, and, after rubbing your body with sweet oil, put on your best robe, and go down to the grain-floor; but do not let him see you till he has come to the end of his meal.
WEB Wash yourself therefore, and anoint you, and put your clothing on you, and get you down to the threshing floor, but don't make yourself known to the man, until he shall have done eating and drinking.
3:4 和合本 到他睡的時候,你看準他睡的地方,就進去掀開他腳上的被,躺臥在那裡,他必告訴你所當做的事。」
KJV And it shall be, when he lieth down, that thou shalt mark the place where he shall lie, and thou shalt go in, and uncover his feet, and lay thee down; and he will tell thee what thou shalt do.

BBE But see to it, when he goes to rest, that you take note of the place where he is sleeping, and go in there, and, uncovering his feet, take your place by him; and he will say what you are to do.
WEB It shall be, when he lies down, that you shall mark the place where he shall lie, and you shall go in, and uncover his feet, and lay you down; and he will tell you what you shall do.
3:5 和合本 路得說:「凡你所吩咐的,我必遵行。」
KJV And she said unto her, All that thou sayest unto me I will do.

3:6 和合本 路得就下到場上,照他婆婆所吩咐他的而行。

3:7 和合本 波阿斯吃喝完了,心裡歡暢,就去睡在麥堆旁邊。路得便悄悄地來掀開他腳上的被,躺臥在那裡。
KJV And when Boaz had eaten and drunk, and his heart was merry, he went to lie down at the end of the heap of corn: and she came softly, and uncovered his feet, and laid her down.

3:8 和合本 到了夜半,那人忽然驚醒,翻過身來,不料有女子躺在他的腳下。
KJV And it came to pass at midnight, that the man was afraid, and turned himself: and, behold, a woman lay at his feet.

YLT And it cometh to pass, at the middle of the night, that the man trembleth, and turneth himself, and lo, a woman is lying at his feet.
BBE Now in the middle of the night, the man awaking from his sleep in fear, and lifting himself up, saw a woman stretched at his feet.
WEB It happened at midnight, that the man was afraid, and turned himself; and behold, a woman lay at his feet.
3:9 和合本 他就說:「你是誰?」回答說:「我是你的婢女路得。求你用你的衣襟遮蓋我,因為你是我一個至近的親屬。」
KJV And he said, Who art thou? And she answered, I am Ruth thine handmaid: spread therefore thy skirt over thine handmaid; for thou art a near kinsman.
ASV And he said, Who art thou? And she answered, I am Ruth thy handmaid: spread therefore thy skirt over thy handmaid; for thou art a near kinsman.
YLT And he saith, `Who `art' thou?' and she saith, `I `am' Ruth thy handmaid, and thou hast spread thy skirt over thy handmaid, for thou `art' a redeemer.'
BBE And he said, Who are you? And she answering said, I am your servant Ruth: take your servant as wife, for you are a near relation.
WEB He said, Who are you? She answered, I am Ruth your handmaid: spread therefore your skirt over your handmaid; for you are a near kinsman.
3:10 和合本 波阿斯說:「女兒啊,願你蒙耶和華賜福。你末後的恩比先前更大;因為少年人無論貧富,你都沒有跟從。
KJV And he said, Blessed be thou of the LORD, my daughter: for thou hast showed more kindness in the latter end than at the beginning, inasmuch as thou followedst not young men, whether poor or rich.
ASV And he said, Blessed be thou of Jehovah, my daughter: thou hast showed more kindness in the latter end than at the beginning, inasmuch as thou followedst not young men, whether poor or rich.
YLT And he saith, `Blessed `art' thou of Jehovah, my daughter; thou hast dealt more kindly at the latter end than at the beginning -- not to go after the young men, either poor or rich.
BBE And he said, May the Lord give you his blessing, my daughter: even better than what you did at the first is this last kind act you have done, in not going after young men, with or without wealth.
WEB He said, Blessed are you by Yahweh, my daughter: you have shown more kindness in the latter end than at the beginning, inasmuch as you didn't follow young men, whether poor or rich.
3:11 和合本 女兒啊,現在不要懼怕,凡你所說的,我必照著行;我本城的人都知道你是個賢德的女子。
KJV And now, my daughter, fear not; I will do to thee all that thou requirest: for all the city of my people doth know that thou art a virtuous woman.
ASV And now, my daughter, fear not; I will do to thee all that thou sayest; for all the city of my people doth know that thou art a worthy woman.
YLT And now, my daughter, fear not, all that thou sayest I do to thee, for all the gate of my people doth know that thou `art' a virtuous woman.
BBE And now, my daughter, have no fear; I will do for you whatever you say: for it is clear to all my townspeople that you are a woman of virtue.
WEB Now, my daughter, don't be afraid; I will do to you all that you say; for all the city of my people does know that you are a worthy woman.
3:12 和合本 我實在是你一個至近的親屬,只是還有一個人比我更近。
KJV And now it is true that I am thy near kinsman: howbeit there is a kinsman nearer than I.
ASV And now it is true that I am a near kinsman; howbeit there is a kinsman nearer than I.
YLT And now, surely, true, that I `am' a redeemer, but also there is a redeemer nearer than I.
BBE Now it is true that I am a near relation: but there is a relation nearer than I.
WEB Now it is true that I am a near kinsman; however there is a kinsman nearer than I.
3:13 和合本 你今夜在這裡住宿,明早他若肯為你盡親屬的本分,就由他吧!倘若不肯,我指著永生的耶和華起誓,我必為你盡了本分,你只管躺到天亮。」
KJV Tarry this night, and it shall be in the morning, that if he will perform unto thee the part of a kinsman, well; let him do the kinsman's part: but if he will not do the part of a kinsman to thee, then will I do the part of a kinsman to thee, as the LORD
ASV Tarry this night, and it shall be in the morning, that if he will perform unto thee the part of a kinsman, well; let him do the kinsman's part: but if he will not do the part of a kinsman to thee, then will I do the part of a kinsman to thee, as Jehovah liveth: lie down until the morning.
YLT Lodge to night, and it hath been in the morning, if he doth redeem thee, well: he redeemeth; and if he delight not to redeem thee, then I have redeemed thee -- I; Jehovah liveth! lie down till the morning.'
BBE Take your rest here tonight; and in the morning, if he will do for you what it is right for a relation to do, very well, let him do so: but if he will not, then by the living Lord I myself will do so.

KJV And she lay at his feet until the morning: and she rose up before one could know another. And he said, Let it not be known that a woman came into the floor.
ASV And she lay at his feet until the morning. And she rose up before one could discern another. For he said, Let it not be known that the woman came to the threshing-floor.
YLT And she lieth down at his feet till the morning, and riseth before one doth discern another; and he saith, `Let it not be known that the woman hath come into the floor.'
BBE And she took her rest at his feet till the morning: and she got up before it was light enough for one to see another. And he said, Let it not come to anyone's knowledge that the woman came to the grain-floor.
WEB She lay at his feet until the morning. She rose up before one could discern another. For he said, Let it not be known that the woman came to the threshing floor.
3:15 和合本 又對路得說:「打開你所披的外衣。」他打開了,波阿斯就撮了六簸箕大麥,幫他扛在肩上,他便進城去了。
KJV Also he said, Bring the vail that thou hast upon thee, and hold it. And when she held it, he measured six measures of barley, and laid it on her: and she went into the city.
ASV And he said, Bring the mantle that is upon thee, and hold it; and she held it; and he measured six `measures' of barley, and laid it on her: and he went into the city.
YLT And he saith, `Give the covering which `is' on thee, and keep hold on it;' and she keepeth hold on it, and he measureth six `measures' of barley, and layeth `it' on her; and he goeth into the city.
BBE And he said, Take your robe, stretching it out in your hands: and she did so, and he took six measures of grain and put them into it, and gave it her to take: and she went back to the town.
WEB He said, Bring the mantle that is on you, and hold it; and she held it; and he measured six measures of barley, and laid it on her: and he went into the city.
3:16 和合本 路得回到婆婆那裡,婆婆說:「女兒啊,怎麼樣了?」路得就將那人向他所行的述說了一遍,

3:17 和合本 又說:「那人給了我六簸箕大麥,對我說:『你不可空手回去見你的婆婆。』」
KJV And she said, These six measures of barley gave he me; for he said to me, Go not empty unto thy mother in law.
ASV And she said, These six `measures' of barley gave he me; for he said, Go not empty unto thy mother-in-law.
YLT And she saith, `These six `measures' of barley he hath given to me, for he said, Thou dost not go in empty unto thy mother-in-law.'
BBE And she said, He gave me these six measures of grain, saying, Do not go back to your mother-in-law with nothing in your hands.
WEB She said, These six measures of barley gave he me; for he said, "Don't go empty to your mother-in-law."
3:18 和合本 婆婆說:「女兒啊,你只管安坐等候,看這事怎樣成就,因為那人今日不辦成這事必不休息。」
KJV Then said she, Sit still, my daughter, until thou know how the matter will fall: for the man will not be in rest, until he have finished the thing this day.
ASV Then said she, Sit still, my daughter, until thou know how the matter will fall; for the man will not rest, until he have finished the thing this day.
YLT And she saith, `Sit still, my daughter, till thou dost know how the matter falleth, for the man doth not rest except he hath completed the matter to-day.'
BBE Then she said, Do nothing now, my daughter, till you see what will come of this; for the man will take no rest till he has put this thing through.
WEB Then said she, "Sit still, my daughter, until you know how the matter will fall; for the man will not rest, until he has finished the thing this day."
