神的無字天書

詩篇 第19章

神賜給我們兩本奇妙的書，讓我們藉著它們認識祂自己。一本是用文字寫出來的聖經；另一本卻是「無字天書」--它就是環繞我們的自然世界。

這兩本書皆向我們述說神自己。詩人在詩篇十九篇的頭幾節說，當我們觀看神所造的天地，就能看見神的大能。日出日落，每天皆是默然無聲的循環轉替，可是，卻默默地提醒我們念及那位創造萬有的神。

不過，我們還需要另一本書，那就是聖經。聖經是神的話語，透過它，我們可以認識神的愛和神對人的旨意。自然世界那本書不能教我們如何處理罪的問題，也不能跟我們談及永生。但聖經卻能夠。聖經可以教導我們、指示我們、幫助我們。請再讀第7至9 節。

聖經還可以指出我們的生命中有哪些東西不討神喜悅(12至13節)。當我們讀神的話語時，神便會藉著聖靈親自教導我們。

詩人以這樣的禱告作結：「主啊，願我口中的言語、心裡的意念，在你面前蒙悅納。求你幫助我！」但不要忘記--你如果想知道神要你做些甚麼和說些甚麼，就必須用時間來研讀神的話語。你有沒有這樣做呢？回顧過去一週，你用了多少時間去研讀和默想聖經呢？

主啊，求你使我愈益愛慕你和你的聖經。

Gods Wordless Book

Bible Reading: Psalm 19

God has given us two wonderful books which tell us about himself. One is the Bible which is a book of words. The other book is not a book of writings, but is a wordless book. It is the book of nature, the world around us.
Yet, both books speak to us of God. The first few verses of the Psalm tell us of Gods great power as we see it in the sky and in the earth he has created. But how loud is a sunset or a sunrise? They are silent voices which every day remind us of God.

However we need the other Book too. The Bible, Gods book of words, tells us of Gods love, and of Gods will for man. The book of nature cannot tell us how to deal with sin. It cannot tell us about a life after this life ends. But the Bible can. The Bible teaches us, instructs us, helps us. Read verses 7-9 again.

The Bible can also point out those things in our lives which do not please God (v.12-13). God speaks to us by his Holy Spirit as we read his Book.

The writer of this Psalm finishes with this prayer, Lord I want my words and my thoughts to be what you want them to be. Help me in this today! But remember this -- if you want to know what God wants you to do and say, you will have to spend time reading his Word. Do you do that? How much time have you spent reading and thinking about his Book, the Bible, this week?

A Prayer:

Lord, give me a greater love for you and for your Book.
