22:1 和合本 美名勝過大財;恩寵強如金銀。
KJV A GOOD name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold.
ASV A `good' name is rather to be chosen than great riches, `And' loving favor rather than silver and gold.
YLT A name is chosen rather than much wealth, Than silver and than gold -- good grace.
BBE A good name is more to be desired than great wealth, and to be respected is better than silver and gold.

22:2 和合本 富戶窮人在世相遇,都為耶和華所造。
KJV The rich and poor meet together: the LORD is the maker of them all.
ASV The rich and the poor meet together: Jehovah is the maker of them all.
YLT Rich and poor have met together, The Maker of them all `is' Jehovah.
BBE The man of wealth and the poor man come face to face: the Lord is the maker of them all.

22:3 和合本 通達人見禍藏躲;愚蒙人前往受害。
KJV A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself: but the simple pass on, and are punished.
ASV A prudent man seeth the evil, and hideth himself; But the simple pass on, and suffer for it.
YLT The prudent hath seen the evil, and is hidden, And the simple have passed on, and are punished.
BBE The sharp man sees the evil and takes cover: the simple go straight on and get into trouble.
WEB A prudent man sees danger, and hides himself;
22:4 和合本 敬畏耶和華心存謙卑,就得富有、尊榮、生命為賞賜。
KJV By humility and the fear of the LORD are riches, and honour, and life.
ASV The reward of humility `and' the fear of Jehovah `Is' riches, and honor, and life.
YLT The end of humility `is' the fear of Jehovah, Riches, and honour, and life.
BBE The reward of a gentle spirit and the fear of the Lord is wealth and honour and life.
WEB The result of humility and the fear of Yahweh
22:5 和合本 乖僻人的路上有荊棘和網羅;保守自己生命的,必要遠離。
KJV Thorns and snares are in the way of the froward: he that doth keep his soul shall be far from them.
ASV Thorns `and' snares are in the way of the perverse: He that keepeth his soul shall be far from them.
YLT Thorns -- snares `are' in the way of the perverse, Whoso is keeping his soul is far from them.
BBE Thorns and nets are in the way of the twisted: he who keeps watch over his soul will be far from them.
WEB Thorns and snares are in the path of the wicked:
22:6 和合本 教養孩童,使他走當行的道,就是到老他也不偏離。
KJV Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
ASV Train up a child in the way he should go, And even when he is old he will not depart from it.
YLT Give instruction to a youth about his way, Even when he is old he turneth not from it.
BBE If a child is trained up in the right way, even when he is old he will not be turned away from it.
WEB Train up a child in the way he should go,
22:7 和合本 富戶管轄窮人;欠債的是債主的僕人。
KJV The rich ruleth over the poor, and the borrower is servant to the lender.
ASV The rich ruleth over the poor; And the borrower is servant to the lender.
YLT The rich over the poor ruleth, And a servant `is' the borrower to the lender.
BBE The man of wealth has rule over the poor, and he who gets into debt is a servant to his creditor.
WEB The rich rule over the poor.
22:8 和合本 撒罪孽的,必收災禍;他逞怒的杖也必廢掉。
KJV He that soweth iniquity shall reap vanity: and the rod of his anger shall fail.
ASV He that soweth iniquity shall reap calamity; And the rod of his wrath shall fail.
YLT Whoso is sowing perverseness reapeth sorrow, And the rod of his anger weareth out.
BBE By planting the seed of evil a man will get in the grain of sorrow, and the rod of his wrath will be broken.
WEB He who sows wickedness reaps trouble,
22:9 和合本 眼目慈善的,就必蒙福,因他將食物分給窮人。
KJV He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor.
ASV He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; For he giveth of his bread to the poor.
YLT The good of eye -- he is blessed, For he hath given of his bread to the poor.
BBE He who is kind will have a blessing, for he gives of his bread to the poor.
WEB He who has a generous eye will be blessed;
22:10 和合本 趕出褻慢人,爭端就消除;分爭和羞辱也必止息。
KJV Cast out the scorner, and contention shall go out; yea, strife and reproach shall cease.
ASV Cast out the scoffer, and contention will go out; Yea, strife and ignominy will cease.
YLT Cast out a scorner -- and contention goeth out, And strife and shame cease.
BBE Send away the man of pride, and argument will go out; truly fighting and shame will come to an end.
WEB Drive out the mocker, and strife will go out;
22:11 和合本 喜愛清心的人因他嘴上的恩言,王必與他為友。
KJV He that loveth pureness of heart, for the grace of his lips the king shall be his friend.
ASV He that loveth pureness of heart, `For' the grace of his lips the king will be his friend.
YLT Whoso is loving cleanness of heart, Grace `are' his lips, a king `is' his friend.
BBE He whose heart is clean is dear to the Lord; for the grace of his lips the king will be his friend.
WEB He who loves purity of heart and speaks gracefully
22:12 和合本 耶和華的眼目眷顧聰明人,卻傾敗奸詐人的言語。
KJV The eyes of the LORD preserve knowledge, and he overthroweth the words of the transgressor.
ASV The eyes of Jehovah preserve `him that hath' knowledge; But he overthroweth the words of the treacherous man.
YLT The eyes of Jehovah have kept knowledge, And He overthroweth the words of the treacherous.
BBE The eyes of the Lord keep knowledge, but by him the acts of the false man will be overturned.
WEB The eyes of Yahweh watch over knowledge;
22:13 和合本 懶惰人說:外頭有獅子;我在街上就必被殺。
KJV The slothful man saith, There is a lion without, I shall be slain in the streets.
ASV The sluggard saith, There is a lion without: I shall be slain in the streets.
YLT The slothful hath said, `A lion `is' without, In the midst of the broad places I am slain.'
BBE The hater of work says, There is a lion outside: I will be put to death in the streets.
WEB The sluggard says, "There is a lion outside!
22:14 和合本 淫婦的口為深坑;耶和華所憎惡的,必陷在其中。
KJV The mouth of strange women is a deep pit: he that is abhorred of the LORD shall fall therein.
ASV The mouth of strange women is a deep pit: He that is abhorred of Jehovah shall fall therein.
YLT A deep pit `is' the mouth of strange women, The abhorred of Jehovah falleth there.
BBE The mouth of strange women is a deep hole: he with whom the Lord is angry will go down into it.
WEB The mouth of an adulteress is a deep pit:
22:15 和合本 愚蒙迷住孩童的心,用管教的杖可以遠遠趕除。
KJV Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.
ASV Foolishness is bound up in the heart of a child; `But' the rod of correction shall drive it far from him.
YLT Folly is bound up in the heart of a youth, The rod of chastisement putteth it far from him.
BBE Foolish ways are deep-seated in the heart of a child, but the rod of punishment will send them far from him.
WEB Folly is bound up in the heart of a child:
22:16 和合本 欺壓貧窮為要利己的,並送禮與富戶的,都必缺乏。
KJV He that oppresseth the poor to increase his riches, and he that giveth to the rich, shall surely come to want.
ASV He that oppresseth the poor to increase his `gain', `And' he that giveth to the rich, `shall come' only to want.
YLT He is oppressing the poor to multiply to him, He is giving to the rich -- only to want.
BBE He who is cruel to the poor for the purpose of increasing his profit, and he who gives to the man of wealth, will only come to be in need.
WEB Whoever oppresses the poor for his own increase and whoever gives to the rich,
22:17 和合本 你須側耳聽受智慧人的言語,留心領會我的知識。
KJV Bow down thine ear, and hear the words of the wise, and apply thine heart unto my knowledge.
ASV Incline thine ear, and hear the words of the wise, And apply thy heart unto my knowledge.
YLT Incline thine ear, and hear words of the wise, And thy heart set to my knowledge,
BBE Let your ear be bent down for hearing my words, and let your heart give thought to knowledge.
WEB Turn your ear, and listen to the words of the wise.
22:18 和合本 你若心中存記,嘴上咬定,這便為美。
KJV For it is a pleasant thing if thou keep them within thee; they shall withal be fitted in thy lips.
ASV For it is a pleasant thing if thou keep them within thee, If they be established together upon thy lips.
YLT For they are pleasant when thou dost keep them in thy heart, They are prepared together for thy lips.
BBE For it is a delight to keep them in your heart, to have them ready on your lips.

22:19 和合本 我今日以此特特指教你,為要使你倚靠耶和華。
KJV That thy trust may be in the LORD, I have made known to thee this day, even to thee.
ASV That thy trust may be in Jehovah, I have made `them' known to thee this day, even to thee.
YLT That thy trust may be in Jehovah, I caused thee to know to-day, even thou.
BBE So that your faith may be in the Lord, I have made them clear to you this day, even to you.

22:20 和合本 謀略和知識的美事,我豈沒有寫給你嗎?
KJV Have not I written to thee excellent things in counsels and knowledge,
ASV Have not I written unto thee excellent things Of counsels and knowledge,
YLT Have I not written to thee three times With counsels and knowledge?
BBE Have I not put in writing for you thirty sayings, with wise suggestions and knowledge,

22:21 和合本 要使你知道真言的實理,你好將真言回覆那打發你來的人。
KJV That I might make thee know the certainty of the words of truth; that thou mightest answer the words of truth to them that send unto thee?
ASV To make thee know the certainty of the words of truth, That thou mayest carry back words of truth to them that send thee?
YLT To cause thee to know the certainty of sayings of truth, To return sayings of truth to those sending thee.
BBE To make you see how certain are true words, so that you may give a true answer to those who put questions to you?
WEB To teach you truth, reliable words,
22:22 和合本 貧窮人,你不可因他貧窮就搶奪他的物,也不可在城門口欺壓困苦人;
KJV Rob not the poor, because he is poor: neither oppress the afflicted in the gate:
ASV Rob not the poor, because he is poor; Neither oppress the afflicted in the gate:
YLT Rob not the poor because he `is' poor, And bruise not the afflicted in the gate.
BBE Do not take away the property of the poor man because he is poor, or be cruel to the crushed ones when they come before the judge:
WEB Don't exploit the poor, because he is poor;
22:23 和合本 因耶和華必為他辨屈;搶奪他的,耶和華必奪取那人的命。
KJV For the LORD will plead their cause, and spoil the soul of those that spoiled them.
ASV For Jehovah will plead their cause, And despoil of life those that despoil them.
YLT For Jehovah pleadeth their cause, And hath spoiled the soul of their spoilers.
BBE For the Lord will give support to their cause, and take the life of those who take their goods.
WEB For Yahweh will plead their case,
22:24 和合本 好生氣的人,不可與他結交;暴怒的人,不可與他來往;
KJV Make no friendship with an angry man; and with a furious man thou shalt not go:
ASV Make no friendship with a man that is given to anger; And with a wrathful man thou shalt not go:
YLT Shew not thyself friendly with an angry man, And with a man of fury go not in,
BBE Do not be friends with a man who is given to wrath; do not go in the company of an angry man:
WEB Don't befriend a hot-tempered man,
22:25 和合本 恐怕你效法他的行為,自己就陷在網羅裡。
KJV Lest thou learn his ways, and get a snare to thy soul.
ASV Lest thou learn this ways, And get a snare to thy soul.
YLT Lest thou learn his paths, And have received a snare to thy soul.
BBE For fear of learning his ways and making a net ready for your soul.
WEB Lest you learn his ways,
22:26 和合本 不要與人擊掌,不要為欠債的作保。
KJV Be not thou one of them that strike hands, or of them that are sureties for debts.
ASV Be thou not one of them that strike hands, `Or' of them that are sureties for debts.
YLT Be not thou among those striking hands, Among sureties `for' burdens.
BBE Be not one of those who give their hands in an agreement, or of those who make themselves responsible for debts:
WEB Don't you be one of those who strike hands,
22:27 和合本 你若沒有什麼償還,何必使人奪去你睡臥的床呢?
KJV If thou hast nothing to pay, why should he take away thy bed from under thee?
ASV If thou hast not wherewith to pay, Why should he take away thy bed from under thee?
YLT If thou hast nothing to pay, Why doth he take thy bed from under thee?
BBE If you have nothing with which to make payment, he will take away your bed from under you.
WEB If you don't have means to pay,
22:28 和合本 你先祖所立的地界,你不可挪移。
KJV Remove not the ancient landmark, which thy fathers have set.
ASV Remove not the ancient landmark, Which thy fathers have set.
YLT Remove not a border of olden times, That thy fathers have made.
BBE Let not the old landmark be moved which your fathers have put in place.
WEB Don't move the ancient boundary stone,
22:29 和合本 你看見辦事殷勤的人嗎?他必站在君王面前,必不站在下賤人面前。
KJV Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; he shall not stand before mean men.
ASV Seest thou a man diligent in his business? he shall stand before kings; He shall not stand before mean men.
YLT Hast thou seen a man speedy in his business? Before kings he doth station himself, He stations not himself before obscure men!
BBE Have you seen a man who is expert in his business? he will take his place before kings; his place will not be among low persons.
