14:1 和合本 耶和華論到乾旱之災的話臨到耶利米:
KJV The word of the LORD that came to Jeremiah concerning the dearth.

YLT That which hath been the word of Jehovah unto Jeremiah concerning the matters of the dearths:
BBE The word of the Lord came to Jeremiah when there was no water.

14:2 和合本 猶大悲哀,城門衰敗。眾人披上黑衣坐在地上;耶路撒冷的哀聲上達。
KJV Judah mourneth, and the gates thereof languish; they are black unto the ground; and the cry of Jerusalem is gone up.
ASV Judah mourneth, and the gates thereof languish, they sit in black upon the ground; and the cry of Jerusalem is gone up.
YLT Mourned hath Judah, and her gates have languished, They have mourned to the earth, And the cry of Jerusalem hath gone up.
BBE Judah is weeping and its doors are dark with sorrow, and people are seated on the earth clothed in black; and the cry of Jerusalem has gone up.
WEB Judah mourns, and the gates of it languish, they sit in black on the ground; and the cry of Jerusalem is gone up.
14:3 和合本 他們的貴冑打發家僮打水;他們來到水池,見沒有水,就拿著空器皿,蒙羞慚愧,抱頭而回。
KJV And their nobles have sent their little ones to the waters: they came to the pits, and found no water; they returned with their vessels empty; they were ashamed and confounded, and covered their heads.
ASV And their nobles send their little ones to the waters: they come to the cisterns, and find no water; they return with their vessels empty; they are put to shame and confounded, and cover their heads.
YLT And their honourable ones have sent their little ones to the water, They have come unto ditches, They have not found water, They have turned back -- their vessels empty! They have been ashamed, And have blushed and covered their head.
BBE Their great men have sent their servants for water: they come to the holes and there is no water to be seen; they come back with nothing in their vessels; they are overcome with shame and fear, covering their heads.

14:4 和合本 耕地的也蒙羞抱頭;因為無雨降在地上,地都乾裂。
KJV Because the ground is chapt, for there was no rain in the earth, the plowmen were ashamed, they covered their heads.
ASV Because of the ground which is cracked, for that no rain hath been in the land, the plowmen are put to shame, they cover their heads.
YLT Because the ground hath been broken, For there hath been no rain in the land, Ashamed have been husbandmen, They have covered their head.
BBE Those who do work on the land are in fear, for there has been no rain on the land, and the farmers are shamed, covering their heads.
WEB Because of the ground which is cracked, because no rain has been in the land, the plowmen are disappointed, they cover their heads.
14:5 和合本 田野的母鹿生下小鹿,就撇棄,因為無草。
KJV Yea, the hind also calved in the field, and forsook it, because there was no grass.
ASV Yea, the hind also in the field calveth, and forsaketh `her young', because there is no grass.
YLT For even the hind in the field hath brought forth -- to forsake `it!' For there hath been no grass.
BBE And the roe, giving birth in the field, lets her young one be uncared for, because there is no grass.
WEB Yes, the hind also in the field calves, and forsakes her young, because there is no grass.
14:6 和合本 野驢站在淨光的高處,喘氣好像野狗;因為無草,眼目失明。
KJV And the wild asses did stand in the high places, they snuffed up the wind like dragons; their eyes did fail, because there was no grass.
ASV And the wild asses stand on the bare heights, they pant for air like jackals; their eyes fail, because there is no herbage.
YLT And wild asses have stood on high places, They have swallowed up wind like dragons, Consumed have been their eyes, for there is no herb.
BBE And the asses of the field on the open hilltops are opening their mouths wide like jackals to get air; their eyes are hollow because there is no grass.
WEB The wild donkeys stand on the bare heights, they pant for air like jackals; their eyes fail, because there is no herbage.
14:7 和合本 耶和華啊,我們的罪孽雖然作見證告我們,還求你為你名的緣故行事。我們本是多次背道,得罪了你。
KJV O LORD, though our iniquities testify against us, do thou it for thy name's sake: for our backslidings are many; we have sinned against thee.
ASV Though our iniquities testify against us, work thou for thy name's sake, O Jehovah; for our backslidings are many; we have sinned against thee.
YLT Surely our iniquities have testified against us, O Jehovah, work for Thy name's sake, For many have been our backslidings, Against Thee we have sinned.
BBE Though our sins give witness against us, do something, O Lord, for the honour of your name: for again and again we have been turned away from you, we have done evil against you.
WEB Though our iniquities testify against us, work you for your name's sake, Yahweh; for our backslidings are many; we have sinned against you.
14:8 和合本 以色列所盼望、在患難時作他救主的啊,你為何在這地像寄居的,又像行路的只住一宵呢?
KJV O the hope of Israel, the saviour thereof in time of trouble, why shouldest thou be as a stranger in the land, and as a wayfaring man that turneth aside to tarry for a night?
ASV O thou hope of Israel, the Saviour thereof in the time of trouble, why shouldest thou be as a sojourner in the land, and as a wayfaring man that turneth aside to tarry for a night?
YLT O Hope of Israel -- its saviour in time of trouble, Why art Thou as a sojourner in the land? And as a traveller turned aside to lodge?
BBE O you hope of Israel, its saviour in time of trouble, why are you like one who is strange in the land, and like a traveller putting up his tent for a night?
WEB You hope of Israel, the Savior of it in the time of trouble, why should you be as a foreigner in the land, and as a wayfaring man who turns aside to stay for a night?
14:9 和合本 你為何像受驚的人,像不能救人的勇士呢?耶和華啊,你仍在我們中間;我們也稱為你名下的人,求你不要離開我們。
KJV Why shouldest thou be as a man astonied, as a mighty man that cannot save? yet thou, O LORD, art in the midst of us, and we are called by thy name; leave us not.
ASV Why shouldest thou be as a man affrighted, as a mighty man that cannot save? yet thou, O Jehovah, art in the midst of us, and we are called by thy name; leave us not.
YLT Why art Thou as one dumb? As a mighty one not able to save? And Thou `art' in our midst, O Jehovah, And Thy name over us is called, leave us not.
BBE Why are you like a man surprised, like a man of war who is not able to give help? but you, O Lord, are with us, and we are named by your name; do not go away from us.
WEB Why should you be like a scared man, as a mighty man who can't save? yet you, Yahweh, are in the midst of us, and we are called by your name; don't leave us.
14:10 和合本 耶和華對這百姓如此說:這百姓喜愛妄行(原文作飄流),不禁止腳步,所以耶和華不悅納他們。現今要記念他們的罪孽,追討他們的罪惡。
KJV Thus saith the LORD unto this people, Thus have they loved to wander, they have not refrained their feet, therefore the LORD doth not accept them; he will now remember their iniquity, and visit their sins.
ASV Thus saith Jehovah unto this people, Even so have they loved to wander; they have not refrained their feet: therefore Jehovah doth not accept them; now will he remember their iniquity, and visit their sins.
YLT Thus said Jehovah concerning this people: Well they have loved to wander, Their feet they have not restrained, And Jehovah hath not accepted them, Now doth He remember their iniquity, And inspect their sin.
BBE This is what the Lord has said about this people: Even so they have been glad to go from the right way; they have not kept their feet from wandering, so the Lord has no pleasure in them; now he will keep their wrongdoing in mind and send punishment for their sins.
WEB Thus says Yahweh to this people, Even so have they loved to wander; they have not refrained their feet: therefore Yahweh does not accept them; now he will remember their iniquity, and visit their sins.
14:11 和合本 耶和華又對我說:「不要為這百姓祈禱求好處。
KJV Then said the LORD unto me, Pray not for this people for their good.
ASV And Jehovah said unto me, Pray not for this people for `their' good.
YLT And Jehovah saith unto me: Thou dost not pray for this people for good,
BBE And the Lord said to me, Make no prayer for this people for their good.
WEB Yahweh said to me, Don't pray for this people for their good.
14:12 和合本 他們禁食的時候,我不聽他們的呼求;他們獻燔祭和素祭,我也不悅納;我卻要用刀劍、饑荒、瘟疫滅絕他們。」
KJV When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer burnt offering and an oblation, I will not accept them: but I will consume them by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence.
ASV When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer burnt-offering and meal-offering, I will not accept them; but I will consume them by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence.
YLT When they fast, I hearken not unto their cry, And when they cause to ascend burnt-offering and present, I accept them not, For by sword, and by famine, And by pestilence, I am consuming them.
BBE When they go without food, I will not give ear to their cry; when they give burned offerings and meal offerings, I will not take pleasure in them: but I will put an end to them by the sword and by need of food and by disease.

14:13 和合本 我就說:「唉!主耶和華啊,那些先知常對他們說:『你們必不看見刀劍,也不遭遇饑荒;耶和華要在這地方賜你們長久的平安。』」
KJV Then said I, Ah, Lord GOD! behold, the prophets say unto them, Ye shall not see the sword, neither shall ye have famine; but I will give you assured peace in this place.
ASV Then said I, Ah, Lord Jehovah! behold, the prophets say unto them, Ye shall not see the sword, neither shall ye have famine; but I will give you assured peace in this place.
YLT And I say, `Ah, Lord Jehovah, Lo, the prophets are saying to them: Ye do not see a sword, yea, famine is not to you, For true peace I give to you in this place.'
BBE Then I said, Ah, Lord God! see, the prophets say to them, You will not see the sword or be short of food; but I will give you certain peace in this place.
WEB Then said I, Ah, Lord Yahweh! behold, the prophets tell them, You shall not see the sword, neither shall you have famine; but I will give you assured peace in this place.
14:14 和合本 耶和華對我說:「那些先知託我的名說假預言,我並沒有打發他們,沒有吩咐他們,也沒有對他們說話;他們向你們預言的,乃是虛假的異象和占卜,並虛無的事,以及本心的詭詐。
KJV Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.
ASV Then Jehovah said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name; I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake I unto them: they prophesy unto you a lying vision, and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their own heart.
YLT And Jehovah saith unto me: Falsehood the prophets are prophesying in My name, I did not send them, nor command them, Nor have I spoken unto them: A false vision, and divination, and vanity, And the deceit of their own heart, they are prophesying to you.
BBE Then the Lord said to me, The prophets say false words in my name, and I gave them no orders, and I said nothing to them: what they say to you is a false vision and wonder-working words without substance, the deceit of their hearts.
WEB Then Yahweh said to me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name; I didn't send them, neither have I commanded them, neither spoke I to them: they prophesy to you a lying vision, and divination, and a thing of nothing, and the deceit of their own heart.
14:15 和合本 所以耶和華如此說:論到託我名說預言的那些先知,我並沒有打發他們;他們還說這地不能有刀劍饑荒,其實那些先知必被刀劍饑荒滅絕。
KJV Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that prophesy in my name, and I sent them not, yet they say, Sword and famine shall not be in this land; By sword and famine shall those prophets be consumed.
ASV Therefore thus saith Jehovah concerning the prophets that prophesy in my name, and I sent them not, yet they say, Sword and famine shall not be in this land: By sword and famine shall those prophets be consumed.
YLT Therefore, thus said Jehovah concerning the prophets who are prophesying in My name, and I have not sent them, and they are saying, Sword and famine is not in this land: By sword and by famine are these prophets consumed.
BBE So this is what the Lord has said about the prophets who make use of my name, though I sent them not, and say, The sword and need of food will not be in this land: the sword and need of food will put an end to those prophets.
WEB Therefore thus says Yahweh concerning the prophets who prophesy in my name, and I didn't send them, yet they say, Sword and famine shall not be in this land: By sword and famine shall those prophets be consumed.
14:16 和合本 聽他們說預言的百姓必因饑荒刀劍拋在耶路撒冷的街道上,無人葬埋。他們連妻子帶兒女,都是如此。我必將他們的惡倒在他們身上(或作:我必使他們罪惡的報應臨到他們身上)。」
KJV And the people to whom they prophesy shall be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and the sword; and they shall have none to bury them, them, their wives, nor their sons, nor their daughters: for I will pour their wickedness upon th

14:17 和合本 你要將這話對他們說:願我眼淚汪汪,晝夜不息,因為我百姓(原文作民的處女)受了裂口破壞的大傷。

BBE And you are to say this word to them, Let my eyes be streaming with water night and day, and let it not be stopped; for the virgin daughter of my people is wounded with a great wound, with a very bitter blow.

14:18 和合本 我若出往田間,就見有被刀殺的;我若進入城內,就見有因饑荒患病的;連先知帶祭司在國中往來,也是毫無知識(或作:不知怎樣才好)。
KJV If I go forth into the field, then behold the slain with the sword! and if I enter into the city, then behold them that are sick with famine! yea, both the prophet and the priest go about into a land that they know not.

KJV Hast thou utterly rejected Judah? hath thy soul lothed Zion? why hast thou smitten us, and there is no healing for us? we looked for peace, and there is no good; and for the time of healing, and behold trouble!

BBE Have you completely given up Judah? is your soul turned in disgust from Zion? why have you given us blows from which there is no one to make us well? we were looking for peace, but no good came; and for a time of well-being, but there was only a great fear.

14:22 和合本 外邦人虛無的神中有能降雨的嗎?天能自降甘霖嗎?耶和華我們的神啊,能如此的不是你嗎?所以,我們仍要等候你,因為這一切都是你所造的。
KJV Are there any among the vanities of the Gentiles that can cause rain? or can the heavens give showers? art not thou he, O LORD our God? therefore we will wait upon thee: for thou hast made all these things.
ASV Are there any among the vanities of the nations that can cause rain? or can the heavens give showers? art not thou he, O Jehovah our God? therefore we will wait for thee; for thou hast made all these things.
YLT Are there among the vanities of the nations any causing rain? And do the heavens give showers? Art not Thou He, O Jehovah our God? And we wait for thee, for Thou -- Thou hast done all these!
BBE Are any of the false gods of the nations able to make rain come? are the heavens able to give showers? are you not he, O Lord our God? so we will go on waiting for you, for you have done all these things.
WEB Are there any among the vanities of the nations that can cause rain? or can the sky give showers? Aren't you he, Yahweh our God? therefore we will wait for you; for you have made all these things.
