24:1 和合本 巴蘭見耶和華喜歡賜福與以色列,就不像前兩次去求法術,卻面向曠野。
KJV And when Balaam saw that it pleased the LORD to bless Israel, he went not, as at other times, to seek for enchantments, but he set his face toward the wilderness.
ASV And when Balaam saw that it pleased Jehovah to bless Israel, he went not, as at the other times, to meet with enchantments, but he set his face toward the wilderness.
YLT And Balaam seeth that `it is' good in the eyes of Jehovah to bless Israel, and he hath not gone as time by time to meet enchantments, and he setteth towards the wilderness his face;
BBE Now when Balaam saw that it was the Lord's pleasure to give his blessing to Israel, he did not, as at other times, make use of secret arts, but turning his face to the waste land,
WEB When Balaam saw that it pleased Yahweh to bless Israel, he didn't go, as at the other times, to meet with enchantments, but he set his face toward the wilderness.
24:2 和合本 巴蘭舉目,看見以色列人照著支派居住。神的靈就臨到他身上,
KJV And Balaam lifted up his eyes, and he saw Israel abiding in his tents according to their tribes; and the spirit of God came upon him.
ASV And Balaam lifted up his eyes, and he saw Israel dwelling according to their tribes; and the Spirit of God came upon him.
YLT and Balaam lifteth up his eyes, and seeth Israel tabernacling, by its tribes, and the Spirit of God is upon him,
BBE And lifting up his eyes, he saw Israel there, with their tents in the order of their tribes: and the spirit of God came on him.
WEB Balaam lifted up his eyes, and he saw Israel dwelling according to their tribes; and the Spirit of God came on him.
24:3 和合本 他便題起詩歌說:比珥的兒子巴蘭說,眼目閉住(或作:睜開)的人說,
KJV And he took up his parable, and said, Balaam the son of Beor hath said, and the man whose eyes are open hath said:
ASV And he took up his parable, and said, Balaam the son of Beor saith, And the man whose eye was closed saith;
YLT and he taketh up his simile, and saith: `An affirmation of Balaam son of Beor -- And an affirmation of the man whose eyes are shut --
BBE And moved by the spirit, he said, These are the words of Balaam, son of Beor, the words of the man whose eyes are open:

24:4 和合本 得聽神的言語,得見全能者的異象,眼目睜開而仆倒的人說:
KJV He hath said, which heard the words of God, which saw the vision of the Almighty, falling into a trance, but having his eyes open:
ASV He saith, who heareth the words of God, Who seeth the vision of the Almighty, Falling down, and having his eyes open:
YLT An affirmation of him who is hearing sayings of God -- Who a vision of the Almighty seeth, Falling -- and eyes uncovered:
BBE He says, whose ears are open to the words of God, who has seen the vision of the Ruler of all, falling down, but having his eyes open:

24:5 和合本 雅各啊,你的帳棚何等華美!以色列啊,你的帳幕何其華麗!
KJV How goodly are thy tents, O Jacob, and thy tabernacles, O Israel!
ASV How goodly are thy tents, O Jacob, Thy tabernacles, O Israel!
YLT How good have been thy tents, O Jacob, Thy tabernacles, O Israel;
BBE How fair are your tents, O Jacob, your houses, O Israel!

24:6 和合本 如接連的山谷,如河旁的園子,如耶和華所栽的沉香樹,如水邊的香柏木。
KJV As the valleys are they spread forth, as gardens by the river's side, as the trees of lign aloes which the LORD hath planted, and as cedar trees beside the waters.
ASV As valleys are they spread forth, As gardens by the river-side, As lign-aloes which Jehovah hath planted, As cedar-trees beside the waters.
YLT As valleys they have been stretched out, As gardens by a river; As aloes Jehovah hath planted, As cedars by waters;
BBE They are stretched out like valleys, like gardens by the riverside, like flowering trees planted by the Lord, like cedar-trees by the waters.

24:7 和合本 水要從他的桶裡流出;種子要撒在多水之處。他的王必超過亞甲;他的國必要振興。
KJV He shall pour the water out of his buckets, and his seed shall be in many waters, and his king shall be higher than Agag, and his kingdom shall be exalted.
ASV Water shall flow from his buckets, And his seed shall be in many waters, And his king shall be higher than Agag, And his kingdom shall be exalted.
YLT He maketh water flow from his buckets, And his seed `is' in many waters; And higher than Agag `is' his king, And exalted is his kingdom.
BBE Peoples will be in fear before his strength, his arm will be on great nations: his king will be higher than Agag, and his kingdom made great in honour.
WEB Water shall flow from his buckets,
24:8 和合本 神領他出埃及;他似乎有野牛之力。他要吞吃敵國,折斷他們的骨頭,用箭射透他們。
KJV God brought him forth out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn: he shall eat up the nations his enemies, and shall break their bones, and pierce them through with his arrows.
ASV God bringeth him forth out of Egypt; He hath as it were the strength of the wild-ox: He shall eat up the nations his adversaries, And shall break their bones in pieces, And smite `them' through with his arrows.
YLT God is bringing him out of Egypt; As the swiftness of a Reem is to him, He eateth up nations his adversaries, And their bones he breaketh, And `with' his arrows he smiteth,
BBE It is God who has taken him out of Egypt; his horns are like those of the mountain ox; the nations warring against him will be his food, their bones will be broken, they will be wounded with his arrows.

24:9 和合本 他蹲如公獅,臥如母獅,誰敢惹他?凡給你祝福的,願他蒙福;凡咒詛你的,願他受咒詛。
KJV He couched, he lay down as a lion, and as a great lion: who shall stir him up? Blessed is he that blesseth thee, and cursed is he that curseth thee.
ASV He couched, he lay down as a lion, And as a lioness; who shall rouse him up? Blessed be every one that blesseth thee, And cursed be every one that curseth thee.
YLT He hath bent, he hath lain down as a lion, And as a lioness: who doth raise him up? He who is blessing thee `is' blessed, And he who is cursing thee `is' cursed.'
BBE He took his sleep stretched out like a lion, and like a she-lion: by whom will his rest be broken? May a blessing be on everyone who gives you blessing, and a curse on everyone by whom you are cursed.
WEB He couched, he lay down as a lion,
24:10 和合本 巴勒向巴蘭生氣,就拍起手來,對巴蘭說:「我召你來為我咒詛仇敵,不料,你這三次竟為他們祝福。
KJV And Balak's anger was kindled against Balaam, and he smote his hands together: and Balak said unto Balaam, I called thee to curse mine enemies, and, behold, thou hast altogether blessed them these three times.
ASV And Balak's anger was kindled against Balaam, and he smote his hands together; and Balak said unto Balaam, I called thee to curse mine enemies, and, behold, thou hast altogether blessed them these three times.
YLT And the anger of Balak burneth against Balaam, and he striketh his hands; and Balak saith unto Balaam, `To pierce mine enemies I called thee, and lo, thou hast certainly blessed -- these three times;
BBE Then Balak was full of wrath against Balaam, and angrily waving his hands he said to Balaam, I sent for you so that those who are against me might be cursed, but now, see, three times you have given them a blessing.
WEB Balak's anger was kindled against Balaam, and he struck his hands together; and Balak said to Balaam, I called you to curse my enemies, and, behold, you have altogether blessed them these three times.
24:11 和合本 如今你快回本地去吧!我想使你得大尊榮,耶和華卻阻止你不得尊榮。」
KJV Therefore now flee thou to thy place: I thought to promote thee unto great honor; but, lo, the LORD hath kept thee back from honor.
ASV Therefore now flee thou to thy place: I thought to promote thee unto great honor; but, lo, Jehovah hath kept thee back from honor.
YLT and now, flee for thyself unto thy place; I have said, I do greatly honour thee, and lo, Jehovah hath kept thee back from honour.'
BBE Go back quickly to the place you came from: it was my purpose to give you a place of honour, but now the Lord has kept you back from honour.
WEB Therefore now flee you to your place: I thought to promote you to great honor; but, behold, Yahweh has kept you back from honor.
24:12 和合本 巴蘭對巴勒說:「我豈不是對你所差遣到我那裡的使者說:
KJV And Balaam said unto Balak, Spake I not also to thy messengers which thou sentest unto me, saying,
ASV And Balaam said unto Balak, Spake I not also to thy messengers that thou sentest unto me, saying,
YLT And Balaam saith unto Balak, `Did I not also unto thy messengers whom thou hast sent unto me, speak, saying,
BBE Then Balaam said to Balak, Did I not say to the men you sent to me,
WEB Balaam said to Balak, Didn't I also tell your messengers who you sent to me, saying,
24:13 和合本 『巴勒就是將他滿屋的金銀給我,我也不得越過耶和華的命,憑自己的心意行好行歹。耶和華說什麼,我就要說什麼』?」
KJV If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the commandment of the LORD, to do either good or bad of mine own mind; but what the LORD saith, that will I speak?
ASV If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I cannot go beyond the word of Jehovah, to do either good or bad of mine own mind; what Jehovah speaketh, that will I speak?
YLT If Balak doth give to me the fulness of his house of silver and gold, I am not able to pass over the command of Jehovah, to do good or evil of mine own heart -- that which Jehovah speaketh -- it I speak?
BBE Even if Balak gave me his house full of silver and gold, it would not be possible for me to go outside the orders of the Lord, doing good or evil at the impulse of my mind; whatever the Lord says I will say?
WEB If Balak would give me his house full of silver and gold, I can't go beyond the word of Yahweh, to do either good or bad of my own mind; what Yahweh speaks, that will I speak?
24:14 和合本 「現在我要回本族去。你來,我告訴你這民日後要怎樣待你的民。」
KJV And now, behold, I go unto my people: come therefore, and I will advertise thee what this people shall do to thy people in the latter days.
ASV And now, behold, I go unto my people: come, `and' I will advertise thee what this people shall do to thy people in the latter days.
YLT and, now, lo, I am going to my people; come, I counsel thee `concerning' that which this people doth to thy people, in the latter end of the days.'
BBE So now I will go back to my people: but first let me make clear to you what this people will do to your people in days to come.
WEB Now, behold, I go to my people: come, and I will advertise you what this people shall do to your people in the latter days.

YLT An affirmation of him who is hearing sayings of God -- And knowing knowledge of the Most High; A vision of the Almighty he seeth, Falling -- and eyes uncovered:

24:17 和合本 我看他卻不在現時;我望他卻不在近日。有星要出於雅各,有杖要興於以色列,必打破摩押的四角,毀壞擾亂之子。
KJV I shall see him, but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come a Star out of Jacob, and a Sceptre shall rise out of Israel, and shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of Sheth.
ASV I see him, but not now; I behold him, but not nigh: There shall come forth a star out of Jacob, And a sceptre shall rise out of Israel, And shall smite through the corners of Moab, And break down all the sons of tumult.
YLT I see it, but not now; I behold it, but not near; A star hath proceeded from Jacob, And a sceptre hath risen from Israel, And hath smitten corners of Moab, And hath destroyed all sons of Sheth.
BBE I see him, but not now: looking on him, but not near: a star will come out of Jacob, and a rod of authority out of Israel, sending destruction to the farthest limits of Moab and on the head of all the sons of Sheth.

24:18 和合本 他必得以東為基業,又得仇敵之地西珥為產業;以色列必行事勇敢。
KJV And Edom shall be a possession, Seir also shall be a possession for his enemies; and Israel shall do valiantly.
ASV And Edom shall be a possession, Seir also shall be a possession, `who were' his enemies; While Israel doeth valiantly.
YLT And Edom hath been a possession, And Seir hath been a possession, `for' its enemies, And Israel is doing valiantly;
BBE Edom will be his heritage, and he will put an end to the last of the people of Seir.

24:19 和合本 有一位出於雅各的,必掌大權;他要除滅城中的餘民。
KJV Out of Jacob shall come he that shall have dominion, and shall destroy him that remaineth of the city.
ASV And out of Jacob shall one have dominion, And shall destroy the remnant from the city.
YLT And `one' doth rule out of Jacob, And hath destroyed a remnant from Ar.'
BBE And Israel will go on in strength, and Jacob will have rule over his haters.

24:20 和合本 巴蘭觀看亞瑪力,就題起詩歌說:亞瑪力原為諸國之首,但他終必沉淪。
KJV And when he looked on Amalek, he took up his parable, and said, Amalek was the first of the nations; but his latter end shall be that he perish for ever.
ASV And he looked on Amalek, and took up his parable, and said, Amalek was the first of the nations; But his latter end shall come to destruction.
YLT And he seeth Amalek, and taketh up his simile, and saith: `A beginning of the Goyim `is' Amalek; And his latter end -- for ever he perisheth.'

24:21 和合本 巴蘭觀看基尼人,就題起詩歌說:你的住處本是堅固;你的窩巢做在巖穴中。
KJV And he looked on the Kenites, and took up his parable, and said, Strong is thy dwelling place, and thou puttest thy nest in a rock.
ASV And he looked on the Kenite, and took up his parable, and said, Strong is thy dwelling-place, And thy nest is set in the rock.
YLT And he seeth the Kenite, and taketh up his simile, and saith: `Enduring `is' thy dwelling, And setting in a rock thy nest,
BBE And looking on the Kenites he went on with his story and said, Strong is your living-place, and your secret place is safe in the rock.
WEB He looked at the Kenite, and took up his parable, and said,
24:22 和合本 然而基尼必至衰微,直到亞述把你擄去。
KJV Nevertheless the Kenite shall be wasted, until Asshur shall carry thee away captive.
ASV Nevertheless Kain shall be wasted, Until Asshur shall carry thee away captive.
YLT But the Kenite is for a burning; Till when doth Asshur keep thee captive?'
BBE But still the Kenites will be wasted, till Asshur takes you away prisoner.
WEB Nevertheless Kain shall be wasted,
24:23 和合本 巴蘭又題起詩歌說:哀哉!神行這事,誰能得活?
KJV And he took up his parable, and said, Alas, who shall live when God doeth this!

YLT And he taketh up his simile, and saith: `Alas! who doth live when God doth this?
BBE Then he went on with his story and said, But who may keep his life when God does this?

24:24 和合本 必有人乘船從基提界而來,苦害亞述,苦害希伯;他也必至沉淪。
KJV And ships shall come from the coast of Chittim, and shall afflict Asshur, and shall afflict Eber, and he also shall perish for ever.
ASV But ships `shall come' from the coast of Kittim, And they shall afflict Asshur, and shall afflict Eber; And he also shall come to destruction.
YLT And -- ships `are' from the side of Chittim, And they have humbled Asshur, And they have humbled Eber, And it also for ever is perishing.'
BBE But ships will come from the direction of Kittim, troubling Asshur and troubling Eber, and like the others their fate will be destruction.

24:25 和合本 於是巴蘭起來,回他本地去;巴勒也回去了。
KJV And Balaam rose up, and went and returned to his place: and Balak also went his way.

YLT And Balaam riseth, and goeth, and turneth back to his place, and Balak also hath gone on his way.
