※Divine Assurance Before the Exodus
Despite a miserable life in slavery, the children of Israel were initially quite reluctant to leave Egypt. So, God assures Moses that his intentions are good, “I will bring you into the land that I swore to give to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob; I will give it to you for a possession.” (Exodus 6:8). Here, and throughout Scripture, God’s main proof of his covenant with Israel is his guarantee of the Promised Land.
儘管奴隸生活悲慘,但以色列人起初並不願離開埃及。因此,上帝向摩西保證自己的心意是好的:「我起誓應許給亞伯拉罕、以撒、雅各的那地,我要把你們領進去,將那地賜給你們為業。我是耶和華。』」 (出埃及記6:8)。從這應許到整本聖經,上帝與以色列立約的主要證明是祂對應許之地的保證與實現。

※Inheritance or heritage? 繼承權還是世襲財產?
The word for “possession” in the original Hebrew is morasha. It comes from the root YRS/ירש meaning “to inherit.” But in Hebrew this is a special word only applied to the Promised Land. Contrary to the more common word yerusha which means an “inheritance,” morasha is a precious heritage. Morasha requires the active participation of each generation, to preserve it for the next generation, unlike yerusha, which is an inheritance that can be easily wasted.
始希伯來語中的「擁有」一詞是מורשׁה morasha。 它來自YRS /ירש字根,意思是to occupy「佔有」。在希伯來語中,這是一個特殊的詞,僅適用於應許之地。與更常見的單詞yerusha(意為「繼承」)相反,morasha是寶貴的遺產。與yerusha不同,Morasha需要每一代人的積極維護,以將其保存給下一代,而yerusha是容易被浪費的遺產。
