Jeremiah 6:16(NASB)
Thus says the LORD, "Stand by the ways and see and ask for the ancient paths, Where the good way is, and walk in it; And you will find rest for your souls. But they said, We will not walk in it.
16 耶和華如此說：你們當站在路上察看，訪問古道，哪是善道，便行在其間；這樣，你們心裡必得安息。他們卻說：我們不行在其間。
Stand - He now turns his speech to the people, and gives them counsel; by a metaphor taken from travellers, that being in doubt of their way, stand still, and consider, whether the direction they have received from some false guide, be right or not.
暫停在行走的道路上：先知向百姓演講，並給他們規勸；用旅行者做比喻，當懷疑他們的方向時，先站著不動，然後思考，判斷他們從嚮導那裡得到的方向是正確或錯誤的。

As the Babylonian military leaders and soldiers were preparing to march against Judah; planning their siege against Jerusalem and agreeing their battle strategies, the children of Judah and Benjamin refused to listen to Jeremiahs pleading cries to escape the wrath to come. The Lord Himself marvelled at the foolhardiness of His obstinate people - even the winds and waves heeded His commands, and yet His defiant nation would not!
當巴比倫的軍事領袖和士兵，為了計劃對耶路撒冷圍城而協調戰鬥策略，準備向猶大進軍時；猶大和便雅閔的子孫們仍拒絕聽耶利米的哀求，以逃避即將來臨的摧殘。耶和華為祂頑固百姓的愚昧而驚嘆，即使風和雨都聽從了祂的命令，但祂的悖逆百姓卻充耳不聞！
The recollection of Gods past deliverance and the hope of future glory was insufficient to bring Judah to its knees in repentance. The threat of judgement from the north and punishment for past sins could not move the petulant people to consider their way.
雖經歷上帝過去的拯救和對未來榮耀的應許的回憶，卻不足以使猶大屈膝悔改。來自北方的審判和對過去罪行的懲罰，並不能使那些有罪的人檢討自己的道路。
Although the Lord warned Jeremiah that the people would not listen to his words; remember their covenant with God or return to the old ways of righteousness, this weeping prophet was faithful to his calling.. "Thus says the LORD", he declared, "Stand by the ways and see and ask for the ancient paths... where the good way is, and walk in it; and you will find rest for your souls". But they said, We will not walk in it.
儘管耶和華警告耶利米，百姓不願記取他們與上帝的約，聽他的勸告回到原來與神公義關係，這位哭泣的先知仍忠於他的呼召。「耶和華如此說，」他宣告說：「站在路旁，探尋古老的道路... 正路在那裡，走上去；會為你的靈魂找到安息的地方。」 但是他們說，「我們不走老路」。
The covenant God made with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob was for the benefit of the nation. The Law of Moses and Gods promises to David were given to direct the nation towards the road of righteousness and the path to peace, where they would find rest for their soul. However, they preferred the pagan practices of the surrounding nations and refused to return to the Mosaic Law{ The Law of Moses (Hebrew: תֹּורַת מֹשֶׁה Torat Moshe)}, which was fundamental to right living.
上帝與亞伯拉罕，以撒和雅各所立的約是為了神國的利益。摩西律法和上帝對大衛的應許，使該國走向公義之路和平安之路，在那裡他們的靈魂得以安息。但是，他們貪愛周圍國家的異教徒習俗，並拒絕重視摩西律法《馬賽克法》，這是活祭生活的基礎。
Gods word is sovereign and the ancient paths, were tried and tested. They secured Gods blessings for His people and promised rest for their soul - while disobedience dictated devastation, destruction and deportation from their promised land. But the people would not walk in Gods ways and their deliberate disobedience caused Him to marvel at His rebellious people.
上帝的話語是至高無上、古老的道路，是經過實行和考驗的。它們驗證為上帝的子民贏得了上帝的福氣，並得應許靈魂的安息，相反的，悖逆則導致了可怕的破壞、毀滅和被逐出應許之地。但是人民卻不理會上帝的命令，百姓的叛逆且故意抗命，使祂難以置信。
Although it is easy to find fault with Judahs rebellious ways and be critical of their attitude, we should be prepared to learn from their failure and consider our ways to see if we obeying the instructions that we have received and are waking in spirit and truth.. we also need to examine if we have chosen to walk in His righteous way and fulfil His instructions to the Church.
儘管很容易明白猶大的叛逆行為並評斷他們不正確的態度，但我們應該從他們的失敗中獲得教訓，並反省檢視，看看我們是否遵行我們聽到的道，並從屬靈和真理中醒來。我們還需要查驗我們是否真正走在祂公義的道路上並遵行祂對教會的命令。

怎樣才算是成吹功？一般人都認為目標達到，獲得名利、地位、權力，受人尊敬、讚許，能享受自己努力的成果，有美滿的生活，這就是成功。如果照上述標準衡量，耶利米實在是一個名符其實的失敗者。作為神的代言人，四十年之久，他不斷向猶大人宣告神的審判，但沒有一個人聽他的；他憂心忡忡地勸諭，苦口婆心不倦地懇求他們悔改，但沒有聽從的。在人看來，他絲毫談不上成成功；然而，在神的眼中，他是歷史上最成功的人之一，因為神以對神的順服與忠誠來衡量人的成功。耶利米不怕來自各方的逼迫，犧牲個人的利益，忠勇地宣講神的信息，履行神的召命。

我們會眾，是否想到去教堂，就想到去參加一個藝人的演唱會？嗨翻天！沉迷在忘我的瘋狂氣氛中？是否想聽到癢耳的話語？是否享受有口無心的問候，暗地裡卻流言傷人？遇到挫則就倒地不起？
為什麼教會是這個樣子？因為是許多人的紛絲聚集，像演唱會一樣賺錢！讓許多受感的大奉獻家氣憤一生！

Have we walked in the old ways, that stands on the word of truth and lead us in the way of righteousness, or have we bought into a watered-down doctrine and a compromised faith through adopting worldly philosophies or engaging in fleshly behaviour. Have we dishonoured our Lord through unbelief or disobedience?
教會是按照真理的「老方法」行事，帶領我們走在正義之路，還是通過世俗的小學或滿足肉體的慾望而陷入了沒有教義和聖俗不分的信仰中
？我們是否因不信或不服從而羞辱了我們的主？
We are not called to walk the same ancient path to which Israel was called, but we are required to be faithful to our calling; to walk in spirit and truth as outlined in the word of God - to grow in grace and in a knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ and to mature in the faith that we have been taught.
我們沒有被要求走與以色列一樣的古老生活，但是我們必須忠於上帝的呼召。 按照神的話語活在聖靈引導和真理中：在恩典和對主耶穌基督的認識上成長，並在我們領受正確教導的信仰中成熟。
May we take our responsibility as blood-bought children of God seriously and die to self; live for Christ and be prepared to say: Thy will be done in my life - not mine.
願我們認真承擔作為真正的上帝兒女的責任，並與基督同死，為基督而活，並說：基督的生命將成就我的人生，而不是為自己而活。
