1亞伯拉罕的後裔(兒子)，大衛的子孫(兒子)耶穌基督的家譜；
2亞伯拉罕生以撒；以撒生雅各；雅各生猶大和他的弟兄；
3猶大從他瑪氏生法勒斯和謝拉；法勒斯生希斯崙；希斯崙生亞蘭；
4亞蘭生亞米拿達；亞米拿達生拿順；拿順生撒門；
5撒門從喇合氏生波阿斯；波阿斯從路得氏生俄備得；俄備得生耶西；
6耶西生大衛王。大衛從烏利亞的妻子生所羅門；
7所羅門生羅波安；羅波安生亞比雅；亞比雅生亞撒；
8亞撒生約沙法；約沙法生約蘭；約蘭生烏西雅；
9烏西雅生約坦；約坦生亞哈斯；亞哈斯生希西家；
10希西家生瑪拿西；瑪拿西生亞們；亞們生約西亞；
11百姓被遷到巴比倫的時候，約西亞生耶哥尼雅和他的弟兄。
12遷到巴比倫之後，耶哥尼雅生撒拉鐵；撒拉鐵生所羅巴伯；
13所羅巴伯生亞比玉；亞比玉生以利亞敬；以利亞敬生亞所；
14亞所生撒督；撒督生亞金；亞金生以律；
15以律生以利亞撒；以利亞撒生馬但；馬但生雅各；
16雅各生約瑟，就是馬利亞的丈夫。那稱為基督的耶穌是從馬利亞生的。
17這樣，從亞伯拉罕到大衛共有十四代；從大衛到遷至巴比倫的時候也有十四代；從遷至巴比倫的時候到基督又有十四代。
18耶穌基督降生的事記在下面：祂母親馬利亞已經許配了約瑟，還沒有迎娶，馬利亞就從聖靈懷了孕。
19她丈夫約瑟是個義人，不願意明明的羞辱她，想要暗暗的把她休了。
20正思念這事的時候，有主的使者向他夢中顯現，說：「大衛的子孫約瑟，不要怕！只管娶過你的妻子馬利亞來，因他所懷的孕是從聖靈來的。
21他將要生一個兒子，你要給祂起名叫耶穌，因祂要將自己的百姓從罪惡裡救出來。」
22這一切的事成就是要應驗主藉先知所說的話。
23說：「必有童女懷孕生子；人要稱祂的名為以馬內利(神與我們同在)。」
24約瑟醒了，起來，就遵著主使者的吩咐把妻子娶過來；
25只是沒有和他同房，等他生了兒子(頭胎的兒子)，就給祂起名叫耶穌。
Matthew 1
1 This is the genealogy of Jesus the Messiah (or Jesus Christ) the son of David, the son of Abraham:
2 Abraham was the father of Isaac, Isaac the father of Jacob, Jacob the father of Judah and his brothers.
3 Judah the father of Perez and Zerah, whose mother was Tamar, Perez the father of Hezron, Hezron the father of Ram,
4 Ram the father of Amminadab, Amminadab the father of Nahshon, Nahshon the father of Salmon,
5 Salmon the father of Boaz, whose mother was Rahab, Boaz the father of Obed, whose mother was Ruth, Obed the father of Jesse,
6 and Jesse the father of King David. David was the father of Solomon, whose mother had been Uriah’s wife,
7 Solomon the father of Rehoboam, Rehoboam the father of Abijah, Abijah the father of Asa,
8 Asa the father of Jehoshaphat, Jehoshaphat the father of Jehoram, Jehoram the father of Uzziah,
9 Uzziah the father of Jotham, Jotham the father of Ahaz, Ahaz the father of Hezekiah,
10 Hezekiah the father of Manasseh, Manasseh the father of Amon, Amon the father of Josiah;
11 and Josiah the father of Jeconiah and his brothers at the time of the exile to Babylon.
12 After the exile to Babylon: Jeconiah was the father of Shealtiel, Shealtiel the father of Zerubbabel,
13 Zerubbabel the father of Abihub, Abihud the father of Eliakim, Eliakim the father of Azor,
14 Azor the father of Zadok, Zadok the father of Akim, Akim the father of Elihud,
15 Elihud the father of Eleazar, Eleazar the father of Matthan, Matthan the father of Jacob,
16 and Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, and Mary was the mother of Jesus who is called the Messiah.
17 Thus there were fourteen generations in all from Abraham to David, fourteen from David to the exile to Babylon, and fourteen from the exile to the Messiah.
18 This is how the birth of Jesus the Messiah came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be pregnant through the Holy Spirit.
19 Because Joseph her husband was faithful to the law, and yet did not want to expose her to public disgrace, he had in mind to divorce her quietly.
20 But after he had considered this, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said. “Joseph son of David, do not be afraid to take Mary home as your wife, because what is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
21 She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins.”
22 All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:
23 “The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel” (which means “God with us”).
24 When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife.
25 But he did not consummate their marriage until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.
太2
1當希律王的時候，耶穌生在猶太的伯利恆。有幾個博士從東方來到耶路撒冷，說：
2「那生下來作猶太人之王的在哪裡？我們在東方看見祂的星，特來拜祂。」
3希律王聽見了，就心裡不安；耶路撒冷合城的人也都不安。
4他就召齊了祭司長和民間的文士，問他們說：「基督當生在何處？」
5他們回答說：「在猶太的伯利恆。因為有先知記著，說：
6猶大地的伯利恆啊，你在猶大諸城中並不是最小的；因為將來有一位君王要從你那裡出來，牧養我以色列民。」
7當下，希律暗暗的召了博士來，細問那星是什麼時候出現的，
8就差他們往伯利恆去，說：「你們去仔細尋訪那小孩子，尋到了，就來報信，我也好去拜他。」
9他們聽見王的話就去了。在東方所看見的星忽然在他們前頭行，直行到小孩子的地方，就在上頭停住了。
10他們看見那星，就大大的歡喜；
11進了房子，看見小孩子和他母親馬利亞，就俯伏拜那小孩子，揭開寶盒，拿黃金、乳香、沒藥為禮物獻給祂。
12博士因為在夢中被主指示不要回去見希律，就從別的路回本地去了。
13他們去後，有主的使者向約瑟夢中顯現，說：「起來！帶著小孩子同他母親逃往埃及，住在那裡，等我吩咐你；因為希律必尋找小孩子，要除滅祂。」
14約瑟就起來，夜間帶著小孩子和他母親往埃及去，
15住在那裡，直到希律死了。這是要應驗主藉先知所說的話，說：「我從埃及召出我的兒子來。」
16希律見自己被博士愚弄，就大大發怒，差人將伯利恆城裡並四境所有的男孩，照著他向博士仔細查問的時候，凡兩歲以裡的，都殺盡了。
17這就應了先知耶利米的話，說：
18在拉瑪聽見嚎啕大哭的聲音，是拉結哭他兒女，不肯受安慰，因為他們的不在了。
19希律死了以後，有主的使者在埃及向約瑟夢中顯現，說：
20「起來！帶著小孩子和他母親往以色列地去，因為要害小孩子性命的人已經死了。」
21約瑟就起來，把小孩子和他母親帶到以色列地去；
22只因聽見亞基老接著他父親希律作了猶太王，就怕往那裡去，又在夢中被主指示，便往加利利境內去了，
23到了一座城，名叫拿撒勒，就住在那裡。這是要應驗先知所說，祂將稱為拿撒勒人的話了。
Matthew 2
1 After Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea, during the time of King Herod, Magi from east came to Jerusalem
2 and asked, “Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We saw his star when it rose and have come to worship him.”
3 When King Herod heard this he was disturbed, and all Jerusalem with him.
4 When he had called together all the people’s chief priests and teachers of the law, he asked them where the Messiah was to be born.
5 “In Bethlehem in Judea,” they replied, “for this is what the prophet has written:
6 “ ‘But you, Bethlehem, in the land of Judah, are by no means least among the rulers of Judah; for out of you will come a ruler who will shepherd my people Israel.’ “
7 Then Herod called the Magi secretly and found out from them the exact time the star had appeared.
8 He sent them to Bethlehem and said, “Go and search carefully for the child. As soon as you find him, report to me, so that I too may go and worship him.”
9 After they had heard the king, they went on their way, and the star they had seen when it rose went ahead of them until it stopped over the place where the child was.
10 When they saw the star, they were overjoyed.
11 On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.
12 And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route.
13 When they had gone, an angel of the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream. “Get up,” he said, “take the child and his mother and escape to Egypt. Stay there until I tell you, for Herod is going to search for the child to kill him.”
14 So he got up, took the child and his mother during the night and left for Egypt,
15 where he stayed until the death of Herod. And so was fulfilled what the Lord had said through the prophet: “Out of Egypt I called my son.”
16 When Herod realized that he had been outwitted by the Magi, he was furious, and he gave orders to kill all the boys in Bethlehem and its vicinity who were two years old and under, in accordance with the time he had learned from the Magi.
17 Then what was said through the prophet Jeremiah was fulfilled:
18 “A voice is heard in Ramah, weeping and great mourning, Rachel weeping for her children and refusing to be comforted, because they are no more.”
19 After Herod died, an angel of the Lord appeared in a dream to Joseph in Egypt
20 and said, “Get up, take the child and his mother and go to the land of Israel, for those who were trying to take the child’s life are dead.”
21 So he got up, took the child and his mother and went to the land of Israel.
22 But when he heard that Archelaus was reigning in Judea in place of his father Herod, he was afraid to go there. Having been warned in a dream, he withdrew to the district of Galilee,
23 and he went and lived in a town called Nazareth. So was fulfilled what was said through the prophets, that he would be called a Nazarene.
